The food was so good, that we ended up eating at the hotel every day. The menu consists of 2 starters (about 200 pesos) 3 main courses (about 500 pesos) and 2 desserts (about 200 pesos) to choose from.
Was out diving / snorkeling with them, service was great, and the equipment was in order.
The staff is very friendly, and well mannered.
Lived there when the corona virus erupted, and the owners helped us a lot, in finding information about our return trip, would like to thank them many times.
Is very isolated, so if you want to go out every day, it can be a bit of a problem, for us it was nice, because we loved the tranquility and peace.
We ended up in the hotel due to some unforseen changes in our planning. From the first minute in the resort we felt really good taken care of. Very sweet staff that is helpful and takes the time to do everything the right way. No stress and no pressure in whatever is needed.
Our children enjoy it a lot, and could spend all day in the pool. The rooms are very luxury. All is clean and functional.
The house reef is still in good shape. Good snorkel and excellent diving.
The resort is slightly of the main road, but all the way worth is.
All the best to the staff from us, from Denmark.

Food is some of the best we’ve had in the Philippines!
Wine list, beers and liquor selection is extensive, they even offer cigars for those that like to indulge.
The rooms are beautiful, mattress, bed lines, pillow and towels are 5star quality. Water pressure is strong and if you like hot water it is readily available. WiFi is available in all rooms and outdoor spaces. A/C and tv are in rooms although we have not used them.Plenty of shade on oversized porches with comfortable large outdoor couches.
Toiletries are provided this includes slippers. The ocean front units have large outdoor bathrooms that are beyond beautiful!
The outdoor area is breathtaking, view forever. Plenty
of cushioned sunchairs are available as are umbrellas. The infinity pool is amazing with a swim up bar, where you can have a cold drink during anytime of day. They have a top notch pool table is you feel like a game, although I must admit I haven’t picked up a pool cue yet.
The sea is crystal clear, as I write this I am looking down into the water and can see corals and fish. Oh and the sunsets, spectacular!
The staff is top notch, very attention, kind and with great sense of humor. The owners whom live onsite, are wonderful, never intrusive and very kind.
The diving crew and boats are top notch. A waitress is even on board the boat to ensure your every need is taken care.
Kawayan is a hidden gem, perfect for those seeking a romantic, relaxing beautiful place to unwind, explore the island from, dive, snorkel, swim or just chill out.
I’m not looking forward to leaving and will plan our returned for the near future..
We have been astonished by the scenery of the boutique hotel. Placed on a cliff overlooking the sea. West oriented for a perfect sunset view. You’ll discover stairs that will lead you down to the sea, an amazing snorkeling spot right under your feet.
Sea view villas are just perfect. Cosy and chic with very good taste. Infinity pool is gorgeous.
You’ll meet the boss, Sylvio and he’ll share with a friendly attitude the perfect tips for a motorbike road trip around the island. Staff is very friendly and nice, always caring about your comfort.
A big plus is the dive club. They have their own boat and Joey the dive guide will take you to their own private spots. Garden corals, tons of macro and fishes. A heaven underwater.
Thumb up !
The staff are excellent, very attentive and good humoured. Jan and Cherry kept us entertained in the evenings! The food was great, with a different menu every evening.
We did a SCUBA pool refresher and 7 dives with Joey, an excellent instructor and dive guide – thanks! Great life and colour on all the dives; we saw several sea turtles, lionfish, sea snakes, frogfish, triggerfish etc.. The dive boat is real luxury and they also have a newer boat under construction. Cherisa had fresh fruit and drinks ready when we came up the steps after each dive. The resort is to be commended for going plastic bottle free, refillable bottles provided.
Our flight to Siquijor was cancelled at the last minute and the resort organised a chartered flight from Cebu, with van transfer on arrival.
The house reef at Kawayan is quite good and the resort has quite a good dive shop too. Very healthy coral and water clarity/temps are great. This reef has loads of colourful sponges, hard and soft corals. In fact the amount of Clown fish was astounding. Plenty of small reef fish and bait schools to follow around too. But not much in the way of larger reef or pelagic fish. We did see Banded Sea Kraits and Morays though.
The resort rooms are tidy, clean and comfortable and would be some of the nicer accom in Siquijor. The food and drinks here are top notch and priced well for a private resort. The view and access to the ocean also gives Kawayan a great outlook whilst relaxing or eating.
We highly recommend a stay here.
Our 3 night stay here in June was by far the best accommodation experience we have ever had.
The location was fantastic, views amazing, but the food and the staff were what really made our stay fantastic. A bit of a long trip to get there, but the size of the island means nothing is actually more than an hour away.
Anything we requested or mentioned an interest in the staff were very happy to make suggestions or help arrange anything we needed.
The worst part about our stay was having to say goodbye to the staff when it was time to leave.
Where to begin… The villas are beautifully designed, clean, spacious. The shower is excellent, thoughtfully there are two washstands, the amenities are very nice. Quiet, modern aircon. The gardens are well-maintained. The location on the cliff is quite scenic, the private, nice coral reef right next to the hotel and free snorkeling equipment rental – just wow. Oh, and how about a beautiful pool with a very deep spot to practice diving and with floating candles at night. I cannot even begin to describe how lovely the staff is as well, we felt extremely welcome. At night it’s quiet and the sky is lit with stars.
The in-hotel restaurant is pricey for local standards but wow will I remember the food for a long time. The best I’ve had in the Philippines, full stop.
The only cons: you’ll have to accept some bugs in the open-air bathroom; the road to the resort is really bad, watch out; and the extra services, especially laundry and massages, are rather expensive.
Overall, an amazing place that makes me want to visit Siquijor again.
Food is great, breakfast pancakes are to die for, i had the same chicken for lunch many times since it was so tasty, dinner changes every day and its always great.
Will come back here again, loved the pool, the sunsets, the sea for snorkeling and the villa was so nice!
Since the resort is small and has only 7 villas, it means there can be a maximum of 14 persons at once. We were lucky to be the only customers for two days. Felt like a princess and we got special dinner and prosecco in the garden while watching the sunset.
Cant say enough good things about this resort, was so great. I can recommend KHR to people who appriciates calm, excellent service, good food and amazing views.
Thank you again to the owners Barbara & Silvio for your hospitality and the staff for making our stay PERFECT! We will be back.
This was our very good luck because this is definitely the best resort on the island. It’s not actually a resort it’s a boutique hotel, with exclusive accomodation for guests so you never feel that it’s too busy. We happened to be very lucky and were the only people at the resort so we decided to stay for another few days. The views and the accommodation is excellent. There is no beach, which actually is OK because there are no good beaches in Siquijor. You can access the sea directly from the hotel by private staircase and private Deck which leads down to the very nice “house reef” and there are many caves and rocks to explore, which makes the swimming better than anywhere on the island.
We wanted also to relax and this resort was perfect for that. After we explored the island a little using the owners personal motorbike, we felt that we were very happy just staying at the resort. The food was very well prepared, and very tasty, the staff was professional and very attentive. The housekeeping was excellent and we always felt that our privacy was respected.
We visited coco grove just to see if we wanted to spend some time on the beach and we ran so quickly back to Kawayan. This is obviously personal taste but we enjoy the exclusive feel of Kawayan and the views to just completely relax. The island of Siquijor doesn’t have many attractions that we felt we wanted to explore so this made finding this hotel even more special. Because the resort was quite the week we visited, the staff organized a special dinner on the cliff edge overlooking the ocean. Thank you for making our stay so special and memorable.
I might just add that this hotel is European standard not Philippine standard, and also it’s a little more expensive so it’s not a budget option. It would suit more exclusive travelers who are looking for something special. In my opinion this resort is the only good reason to stay in Siquijor.
