7.4 magnitude earthquake close to Mindanao, Philippines

On October 10th, a powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck southeast of the Philippines, near the island of Mindanao.

Just a few days after the 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck the central region of the Philippines, a powerful 7.4 quake hit the southeast, triggering a tsunami warning.

We’re pleased to once again reassure all guests and travelers that Kawayan Holiday Resort on Siquijor remains completely unaffected, with no damage sustained. Neither people nor buildings were affected.
Operations in the region continue to run smoothly.

 

On Sept. 30th 2025 in evening (local time), a 6.9 magnitude earthquake struck in the central region of the Philippines.

We are pleased to inform all guests and travelers that the Kawayan Holiday Resort on Siquijor suffered no damage. Neither people nor buildings were affected.
Operations in the region continue to run smoothly. This applies to both flights to Dumaguete and shipping to and from Siquijor.

Guests traveling to Cebu are advised to check the current situation on site and arrive at the airport a little earlier for their flights.
Security checks are currently being conducted at various buildings. Significant traffic disruptions are also expected.
